Tuesday, July 19th: Halfway there

Today marks the halfway point of the trip.  24 days down, 24 to go.
This morning started a little rough...it was rainy and weird to be back at the school.  The kids are going to be separated from now on.  Madelyn is in the big class with Majelyn Sensei, another teacher, and all the regular summer kids.  I'm with the kids who paya random teacher who doesn't speak any English and doesn't involve me no matter how I try.We had nursery time as usual which I always enjoy :) I love the little ones.  Lunch was a decent version of chicken noodle soup, weird seafood something that I ate and still am not sure what it was, and purple jello.  Not too bad.  Hallelujah!  The afternoon consisted of the usual nap time, Kumon class, and Kids Club.
The evening was supposed to consist of grocery shopping and being productive.  Instead, it consisted of going to dinner with the Nishimura family at 7:45pm...a little later than normal for me.  But, we went to a sushi bar!
Don't worry, all you non-fish people,
there was ice cream available too!

Some other non-fish options

But I liked the fish :)

All the little plates come by on the little
track and you just pull off whichever
one looks good!

It was a different evening than planned, but still good :)
Now that I'm halfway done, I'm hoping the days will go by more enjoyably and more quickly.  Please keep Madelyn and I in your prayers still!
